Eight seniors from the class of 2010 were recognized at their final MCS concert: Amy Allan, Joe Anagnostopulos, Meghan Benjamin, Heather Brand, Kyle Brubaker, Olivia Miller, Andy Mott and Jenna Tomlinson.

The Mayfield Jazz Band recently received a gold award at the Fonda-Fultonville High School Jazz Festival. The gold award is the highest honor awarded at the festival. Joe Anagnostopulos was named the Most Outstanding Musician of the Festival for the 3rd year in a row at the festival. Kyle Brubaker was picked as 3rd trumpet; Ryan Bumpus, 4th trumpet; Stephen Grubb, 4th trombone and Joe Anagnostopulos, 1st tenor sax for the honorary all-star band of the festival. At the Oneida High School Jazz Festival, Mayfield was given a silver award, the second highest award given at the festival. All-Stars were Aaron Costa, baritone sax; Ryan Bumpus, 1st trumpet; Kyle Brubaker, 3rd trumpet and Joe Anagnostopulos, tenor sax.
Congratulations to Joe Anagnostopulos, senior tenor saxophonist for being selected to the All-State Jazz Ensemble. Joe auditioned for this honor last spring and was chosen to be one of only two tenor saxophonists in the band out of all of the hundreds of students who auditioned from all over the state including New York City and all the larger cities and schools. The New York State School Music Association Winter Conference and All-State Music Festival took place Dec. 3-6, 2009 at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester. Joe was also selected to play tenor sax in the Area All-State Jazz Ensemble. Joe was selected the past two year to play in the Area All-State concert band. This is his first year in the jazz ensemble. The Area All-State Music Festival is for all the schools of the Capital District. That took place Nov. 20-21, 2009 at Saratoga Springs High School.
